Millions of people in England can book flu and COVID-19 vaccinations from Monday, 23 September as the NHS rolls out additional protection for those most at risk ahead of winter.
Starting this September, the NHS will offer vaccines for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), a common cause of coughs and colds which can be dangerous to older people, new-borns and young children. This is in addition to the existing flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.
On August 1st 2024, the British Medical Association announced that GPs across England have voted overwhelmingly (98.3%) in favour of taking collective action, in protest at the limited increase in funding for the 2024/5 contract for GP services in England and the general pressures that GPs face.
